Birchwood Farm Tour The Birchwood Farm family welcomes you to learn about agriculture on a guided tour of their 150 acre farm in the beautiful Sumas Prairie, British Columbia area. For pricing and reservations click here. 
 We promote education and think that children of all ages should have the opportunity to learn that dairy products such as milk are produced on a farm and are not just a product bought at the local grocery store. The Birchwood family farm is proud to share with you the opportunity to see your local dairy farm in action. Our goal is to make sure that your trip to our farm is a great learning experience as children (and adults) are very curious and always have many questions! Buses welcome On your guided tour, we will visit the cow barns, learn about the history and operation of the farm then proceed to the milking area where the group will get a better understanding of how milk gets from the cow to the grocery store. Next we will visit the calf barn where you will get to meet the newborns. This tour will last approximately 45 minutes to one hour, depending on the needs of each individual tour group. After the tour, each person will receive a gourmet ice cream cone of his or her choice, which is included in the cost of the tour. You are then free to wander around the grounds on your own or visit our little country market where we serve light lunches, farm fresh dairy products, produce and more. The children can play at their own risk on the swings and enjoy the little farm animal area. We also have picnic tables if you choose to stay awhile and relax.
