We are currently not doing tours. Our barns and grounds are open year round at no cost. They are open the same as store hours.
We promote education and think that children of all ages should have the opportunity to learn that dairy products such as milk are produced on a farm and are not just a product bought at the local grocery store. There is a lot of hard work that goes into making the dairy products you eat daily and we pour our heart and soul into making fresh products for all to enjoy! The Birchwood Family Farm is proud to share with you the opportunity to see your local dairy farm in action. Our goal is to make sure that your visit to our farm is a fun and great learning experience!
We welcome you to enjoy an approximate 45 minute guided tour around our Fraser Valley Farm. Our first stop will be the cow barn were we will visit the mama cows and talk about their life cycle, learn about the history and operation of the farm, then proceed to the milking area and learn how the milking equipment is used and how cow’s milk ends up in the products we eat daily. We will also visit the calf barn where you will get to meet the newborns and the mama’s in waiting. After the tour, each person will receive a gourmet ice-cream cone of their choice, which is included in the cost of the tour. You are then free to wander around the designated ground areas on your own or visit our country store where we serve light lunches, farm fresh dairy products, produce and more. The children can play at their own risk on the swings and enjoy the farm animal petting area (June-September). We also have picnic tables if you choose to stay awhile and relax.
Reservations are required. Guided tours are for 10 or more people. Self-Guided tours are for any size group. Please make reservations well in advance for groups of 10 or more, by calling our office at 604-857-1315 or emailing the Farm Tour Reservation Sheet to [email protected].
Thank you for supporting your local farmer!
